It’s super simple! If you have a draft, submit it for revision. One of our consultants will provide you with a thoroughly revised draft and a detailed critique. Our goal is to provide you with a draft that’s ready to submit. Sometimes, additional rounds of revision are needed, and those are included in the price you pay.

If you don’t have a draft, then your order will include a consultation with us where we go over your application and collaborate to build a detailed outline based on your background, voice, personality, and aspirations.. You’ll then use that outline to produce a draft, which we’ll revise. Again, our goal is to provide you with a draft that’s ready to submit. Sometimes, additional rounds of revision are needed, and those are included in the price you pay.

Our goal is to convey the best version of you. Your voice, but more refined and compelling. If we generated cookie-cutter essays, we wouldn’t have survived 15+ years in this business! We often tell clients, “I’m not applying to college; you are!” As such, we account for what matters to you and how you like to say it. This is NOT a cookie-cutter generic revision. It’s meant to fit you and your needs.

There is no cap. Your service isn’t done until you’re happy with the essay. Most clients are happy with the first revision, but sometimes some additional back-and-forth is needed to get it just right. You won’t be charged extra for this.

Yes. Like the schools you’re applying to, we have AI-detection software, so if you tell us that you’ve produced some or all of the text with AI, we can rework the essay and test it to ensure that it doesn’t get flagged. HOWEVER, a far better strategy is to work with us from the start to build an essay that does not use A.I. This will avoid all ethical and practical questions completely. This process tends to produce better essays.

You decide. When you place an order, you’ll select the date you need it returned. Typically, we advise giving us at least two days, but we have expedited services for people on a tight deadline. We can, depending on volume, even accommodate a revision within a few hours. For that, please contact us to make sure we have the bandwidth to help you immediately.

Of course, we work hard to remain cognizant of your deadlines and we are proud that in the 14 years that Gurufi has been in existence, we’ve never once been the reason a client missed a deadline.

This is where our service really shines. Working with one of our consultants from the start will help you identify the right stories, devise a personalized and effective strategy, and tell your story in a way that’s authentic and tailored to your experiences and aspirations.

We have you fill out a short questionnaire, which guides the hourlong consultation session during which we build a detailed outline for your essay. You’ll take that outline and write your draft, which you’ll then submit to us for a full revision and rewrite. The results consistently shock our clients (in a good way!) and some have been moved to tears!

If you submit to us a draft for revision, our job is to make it shine without diluting your voice. We pride ourselves in making essays into their best versions. It’s more than just a “glorified spellcheck” and is far better than a generic fix-up that ChatGPT might provide. Our consultants are accomplished editors and published authors who can make your essays shine. Our clients have also often told us that the critiques we send back explaining our changes have helped to make them better writers going forward!

Yes. If you’re not satisfied with the revisions, you won’t pay. In the years that this promise has been in existence, fewer than half a percent of clients have ever demanded a refund. We stand by our work and have many internal processes by which we measure client satisfaction.

We will not, though, guarantee that our personal statements will guarantee you admission into your dream school. Anybody who promises you that is lying. There is too much that goes into admissions to make such a promise, but we do guarantee that our essays will maximize your chance of admission given all the other factors (grades, test scores, recommendations, CV, interview, demographics, etc.)

Absolutely. If you have multiple essays that are ready to be revised, you can submit them all at once in one order. If you’ve not yet begun, contact us at service@gurufi.com to either set up a consultation or have us suggest a plan of action. Often, the best path is to work together on one essay, and if the experience is positive, we can set up a bigger order to complete all of your essays! 

Consultation agendas vary depending on the needs of the individual client, but our main job is to develop your admissions positioning and brainstorm the best approach to the essay(s). At the end of the consultation, you will have a detailed outline of your essay that you can use as a guide to write a strong essay.

Yes, advisors often exchange a couple emails with clients after returning their revised essay to answer follow-up questions and address any lingering issues. Remember, most clients are happy with their first revision, but our job’s not finished until you’re satisfied with the essay. If needed, you won’t pay for additional rounds of editing on your essay.

When you place your order, you can select the editor you want. You’ll never pay for an editor and then get swapped to another without your approval. Sometimes, that editor isn’t available in the time frame you want. In that case, you can either reach out to us to see if they’ll take you on anyway, or you can let our system select an editor whose skills and background align with your needs. All of our editors are great, though, and we stand by the work they all do!
