About Me
I worked for Ivy Bound Test Prep where I helped students perfect their personal statements for college applications. To write a great personal statement, you do not need extraordinary talent, but you do need a few tricks up your sleeve. These tricks fall into two categories:
1. Specific writing techniques. These are ways to make your writing dramatic, vivid, and fluid. I learned these techniques by taking apart great pieces of writing and figuring out what made them tick. I found that great writers rely on a small number of simple techniques. I show you these techniques, and then sit back and watch you apply them.
2. Structure. Writing that aims to persuade its readers must possess a tight structure. I work with you to define the structure of your piece early in the writing process, so that you have a logical outline upon which to build your statement.
My aim is to not only help you craft the best possible personal statement. I also want to give you tools that will serve you well in college, in your career, and will help you be a more effective communicator in your life.
